AirTags are finally here! It’s a location tracker that uses the iPhone 12’s ultra wideband radios to pinpoint its exact location up to the inch–with real-time directional guidance–as long as you’re within 30 meters of it. (And if not, you can sound an alarm to help you find the way!) Apple announced the oft-rumored, frequently delayed NFC tracking tag at last week’s media event. For folks who were quick ordering them last week, they’ve been loaded onto trucks and will be delivered starting today.
Of course, once you get your AirTag there’s not a ton you can actually do with it. Even the use-case scenario that Apple highlighted in the product introduction video doesn’t feature an AirTag on its own–it’s encased in Apple’s own Key Ring accessory. pg slot
