The 2023 lotus Emira is a sports car developed by British car manufacturer Lotus Cars. It is the first new Lotus model since the Evora and the first new Lotus sports car since the Elise, which was launched in 1996.
The Emira has been designed to be a successor to the Elise and is intended to "provide a natural transition" for Elise owners into a newer model. It will be offered with two powertrains: a normally-aspirated 4-cylinder engine or an electric motor (with optional range extender). The car will be produced at Hethel from 2022, initially at up to 2000 units per year.
The motorsport version of the Emira, called the Type 131, will also be used as a base for an extreme track version called the "Type 130".
The Lotus Emira is a sports car developed by British car manufacturer Lotus Cars. It is the first new model developed under Geely ownership, and the first new Lotus model to be introduced since the Evora in 2008.
The Emira was unveiled on 15 July 2020 as a replacement for the Evora, and it will enter production in 2021 at Lotus's Hethel factory in Norfolk, United Kingdom. A week after its global debut, it was announced that the Emira will replace the Evora in the GT4 European Series from 2022 onwards.
