It appears that Diablo II: Resurrected is moving forward with some long-awaited new features, as Blizzard has announced the game's Public Test Realm (PTR) is set to go live tomorrow. At first it appears that the PTR will just be employed to D2R Items try out new server back-end things, but Blizzard promises testing of version 2.4, which finally introduces Ladder Play, is "coming shortly."
As previously mentioned, the the update 2.4 will add Ladder play (Diablo's name for an online competitive Realm that allows everyone's progress to be measured and ranked) and some tweaks to mercenaries, as well as a variety of tweaks to individual classes. Similar to Diablo II Classic, Diablo II: Resurrected will feature four distinct Ladder modes, such as Standard Ladder - The less formal version of Ladder play that encompasses playing with 4 acts.Hardcore Ladder - The hardcore (only 1 lifetime) variant of Ladder play that has four acts.Standard Expansion Ladder A casual form of Ladder play, that involves playing five acts, as it incorporates"Lord of Destruction" expansion content "Lord of Destruction" expansion content.Hardcore Expansion Ladder The hardcore (only 1 life) version Ladder play , which consists of five different acts, since it also includes the "Lord of Destruction" expansion content.
First time ever, players will have the opportunity to unlock an array of fresh Rune Words in the Ladder system! To clarify the following Rune Words have never existed in the game before, and will not be available to players who play without Ladder unlike the previously available Ladder-only Rune Words in the original Diablo II experience. The end of a Ladder season players who can successfully make these Rune Words will have their Ladder character moved to an "non-Ladder" variant of the game. At the start of the following Ladder season, players will make a new Ladder character and start all with a new character to buy diablo II resurrected items earn rewards.
