Hair extensions originated in the 1980s, but were low in quality and high in cost, and were given up on until few years ago. Their popularity has soared because celebrities have started to use them.
Hair extensions are clusters of hair that can be attached to your natural hair or scalp; they help add to the thickness of your hair or give you more length. Strands, small clusters of about 30 pieces of hair short dredlocks are usually joined to the scalp for permanent extensions. Wefts, are slightly larger sheets of hair, and are joined at the top and free flowing at the ends. It is best to ask for the hand made variety. They are a little more expensive, but are worth it. Braids and dreadlocks are also very popular forms of hair extensions.
