Development of both brain and blood cells relies on adequate levels of Vitamin B12. That's why it might boost health in a number of ways. Deficits in vitamin B12 have been related to neuropsychiatric symptoms, although the underlying mechanism connecting the two is not well understood. Some examples of mood disorders are significant depression and obsessive compulsive disorder.
As far as Tarugu is concerned, serotonin, the "chemical that controls mood," cannot be synthesised unless vitamin B12 is present. Vitamin B12 supplementation has been advocated as a therapy for depression as a result of this link.
Among 199 participants, antidepressants and vitamin B12 injections reduced depression by 20%. As many as 71% of patients reported improvement after getting B12, but this dropped to 69% when antidepressants were also administered.
