Venmo Limits on Personal Accounts

Venmo allows you to spend as much as $299.99 per week when you create a personal account. After that, you will need to verify your identity. The authentication process takes only a few minutes and can allow you to send as much as $60,000 per week depending on your payment method.

Purchases can be made using your QR code, Venmo online, or another app. You can pay as high as $7,000

Venmo's weekly limits for Venmo are calculated using a rolling calendar. If you send money to someone on Thursday at 2:30 pm, your weekly limit will be cleared the next Thursday at 2:31 pm.

Below are some Venmo limits that can be applied to personal accounts.

Transfers from Person to Person

  • The maximum weekly limit for sending: is $60,000

  • Maximum weekly purchase limit: $7,000

Venmo Mastercard Debit Purchases

  •  Maximum weekly spending: $7,000

  • Per transaction limit: $2,999.99

Additional limits are available to cardholders, including a $400 daily limit on ATM withdrawals or cash back. Account holders also have a $3,000 daily limit on purchases and a maximum of 30 transactions per day. The weekly limits are reset on a rolling basis. All other Venmo Mastercard Debt limits are reset at midnight CST.

Limits on Bank Transfers

Two methods are available to Venmo users who have verified bank accounts to add money straight to their wallets.

Standard Add Money: Transfers take three to five business days and there is a limit of $1,500 per calendar week. There is no minimum transfer limit.

Instant Money: Only Venmo debit card holders can access Instant Money. This allows them to instantly transfer up to $500 per week from their bank accounts. Although the money will be available immediately in the digital wallet it can take up to five business days for the bank account to debit the customer.

You can still make Venmo payments even if you cannot add a bank account to verify your identity and don't have Venmo debit cards.

Account holders who don't verify their identity may transfer funds to their bank accounts via the Venmo app, but these amounts are not unlimited. Customers can send $999.99 per week, depending on Venmo security checks.

Opting into Venmo's identity verification system raises the Venmo-to-bank-account limit to $19,999.99 a week. The maximum transaction limit to a bank account is $5,000 and the minimum transfer limit is $0.26 for instant bank transfers.

Venmo Limits on Business Accounts

Personal accounts are subject to different limits for business Venmo accounts. Venmo, however, places limits on business accounts based on whether you have verified your identity.

The USA PATRIOT Act requires Venmo to verify a registered business account. You may need to submit information like your business address and EIN.

These are the limits for Venmo business account accounts.

Limit per person weekly

  • Unverified: $2,499.99

  • Verified: $25,000

The weekly limit for Standard and Instant Bank Transfers

  • Unverified: $999.99

  • Verified: $49,999.99

Cryptocurrency Venmo Limits

The U.S. has no restrictions on personal account holders. They can purchase, sell, or hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. You can't use your cryptocurrency for purchases, payments, or transfers outside of Venmo. Additionally, only business account holders can engage in cryptocurrency transactions.

Venmo's weekly limits for crypto-buying are generous at $20,000 per week. The annual maximum is $50,000.

How to increase Venmo limit?

Your account solely determines how much money you may send, receive, and transfer to and from the Venmo app. You can transfer funds up to $19,999.99 if your account is validated, and up to $999.99 if it is still an unverified account. You cannot increase your daily or weekly sending limits if your account is validated. You can apply to have your account verified if it hasn't already been done, at which point you are daily or weekly sending limits will be Increase Venmo Limit.

Regrettably, the admins have set the limits, but you can alter them. You will be informed if the app's creators feel the need to change anything, though. You can raise your daily and weekly sending limits once they've made a decision.

Conclusion

Venmo may allow some users to use the lowest limits. However, it is possible to increase your Venmo limit for larger transfers or purchases. Verifying your identity is a good way to increase your personal and business spending limits.
