According to Alaska Airlines Name Change Policy, allows passengers to correct typos or change names for legal reasons such as marriage or divorce. The policy is helpful in ensuring compliance with the TSA, but the fees that are charged for even slight corrections are quite off-putting. The process often requires a call to customer service and documentation for a legal name change, which is cumbersome and time-consuming for some. The process would be greatly improved if it were simplified and minor mistakes were not charged for. While effective, the policy could be made more flexible and efficient.
