Filitra, like other medications used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), contains Vardenafil, which is a PDE5 inhibitor. Its primary role is to increase blood flow to the penis to help men achieve and maintain an erection when sexually aroused. However, it does not have a direct effect on testosterone levels.
How Filitra Works:
Filitra works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). This helps to relax the blood vessels in the penis, improving blood flow and facilitating an erection. It does not directly influence hormone levels, such as testosterone, which is responsible for regulating sexual desire, muscle mass, bone density, and overall sexual function.
Testosterone and Erectile Dysfunction:
Erectile dysfunction can sometimes be linked to low testosterone levels, as testosterone plays a role in libido (sexual drive) and erectile function. However, FILITRA does not address low testosterone directly. It is designed to help with the mechanical aspect of achieving an erection rather than influencing hormone production.
Filitra and Testosterone Levels:
Since Filitra does not directly affect hormone production, it does not increase or decrease testosterone levels. If a man has low testosterone (hypogonadism), Filitra may still help him achieve an erection by improving blood flow, but it won’t resolve the underlying hormonal issue.
Filitra does not impact testosterone levels. If testosterone deficiency is contributing to erectile dysfunction, other treatments, such as testosterone replacement therapy, might be needed alongside medications like Filitra for a comprehensive approach to managing ED.
