Hi everyone! Just wanted to post a brief summary of my experience flying Delta Airlines Miami International Airport. Let's face facts — MIA isn't exactly famous for being an easy airport to navigate. But Delta's terminal caught me off guard in a positive way.
As soon as I entered, everything seemed to be a little more streamlined than what I'm accustomed to at MIA. The Delta check-in stations were clearly labeled, and I was able to get a bag checked and through security in less than 30 minutes — a miracle in Miami! What struck me most, however, was the friendliness of the Delta staff. One of the staff members even went over to an elderly passenger who appeared lost and escorted her to her gate. That sort of humanity makes a big difference.
The terminal itself is reasonably new and clean. I was pleased with the clean toilets (you'd be surprised how uncommon that is at some airports) and had no difficulty finding seating and resting areas. I grabbed a coffee and a sandwich from one of the little cafes near the gate, and it was pretty good — not gourmet, but it hit the spot. They had good charging stations too, which is always a plus when you’re trying to top up before a flight.
Boarding was organized and on time, and gate agents were nice but not hostile. I think that MIA Delta Terminal definitely gets the little things right in this case — brief announcements, respectful employees, and just this general sense that someone is watching how the facility runs. It's not the most sleek terminal, overall, but it's a good time. If you're flying Delta in or out of MIA, you can actually have a pretty stress-free experience — and that's saying something for any major airport.
