Vilitra is a medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. The key to its effectiveness lies in its active ingredient, Vardenafil.
Vardenafil is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, a class of drugs that help increase blood flow to the penis. By blocking the PDE5 enzyme, vardenafil allows for the relaxation of blood vessels in the penile tissue, enabling improved blood circulation during sexual arousal. This leads to easier achievement and maintenance of an erection.
During sexual stimulation, nitric oxide is released in the penis, triggering the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). This molecule relaxes smooth muscles and widens blood vessels, allowing increased blood flow. Vardenafil prevents the breakdown of cGMP by inhibiting PDE5, helping sustain the erection longer.
VILITRA should be used under medical supervision. It is important to follow prescribed doses and avoid combining it with nitrate medications due to potential dangerous interactions.
