Traveling with Frontier Airlines SJO Terminal from San José’s international airport turned out to be a smart and stress-free decision for my trip. I wasn’t sure what to expect flying with a budget airline, but the process was surprisingly efficient from start to finish. Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport, the Frontier check-in counters were easy to locate, and although there was a small queue, it moved quickly thanks to the helpful and organized staff. I had checked in online, so dropping off my bag was fast and straightforward. The airport environment was clean and comfortable, with several decent food and coffee spots to relax at while waiting. I especially appreciated the availability of charging stations near the gate, which made it easy to top off my phone before boarding. The boarding process itself was well-managed, with announcements made clearly and staff guiding passengers efficiently. Onboard, the seating was basic but clean and sufficient for the relatively short flight. I knew that Frontier didn’t include snacks or entertainment in the base fare, so I came prepared with my own items. The crew was professional and courteous throughout, and the flight departed and arrived on time without any issues. What really stood out to me was the sense of predictability—everything went just as expected, which is exactly what you hope for when traveling. For someone who doesn’t need extra frills and just wants a reliable and affordable flight, this checked all the boxes. As long as you understand the airline’s low-cost model and pack accordingly, Frontier at SJO Terminal out of SJO is a solid choice. I’d have no problem flying with them again, especially for quick international trips where saving money matters more than inflight extras. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience.
