This depends on your goal and budget. A PTE free mock test is excellent for practice and building familiarity with the format. Many free mocks today are very high-quality and use AI scoring similar to Pearson’s system.
However, the official paid mock tests from Pearson are closest to the real exam in terms of scoring and difficulty. So ideally, you should start with free mocks to build a foundation, and once you’re consistently hitting your target score, invest in one or two official tests for confirmation.
In short: free for practice, paid for precision. A PTE free mock test is the smart place to start your journey without spending money too early.
