My latest season in Retro Bowl was a complete trial by fire. I had three starters go down with injuries in the same week, and because I hadn't invested enough in my rehab facilities, they were out for the rest of the month. In my experience, this game is a masterclass in risk management. You have to decide when to push your players and when to rest them, especially as they get older. I love how the game forces you to deal with the media and fan expectations throughout these struggles. If you lose a few games, the fans start to turn, and your income drops, making it even harder to fix the team. It’s a fascinating cycle of strategy and action that feels incredibly realistic despite the charmingly simple pixel art. It’s definitely the most engaging management sim I’ve found in years.
