Hey everyone, I’m looking at some linear actuators from Progressive Automations for a motorised desk conversion and a solar tracker project. I’ve seen cheaper ones on Amazon/eBay, but the specs on the PA site seem way more detailed. For those in Europe, how is the shipping and support? Is the build quality actually better than the generic stuff, or am I just paying for a fancy website?

For my motorised desk and solar tracker, I also compared budget units from Amazon/eBay with what I found on automation solutions The specs on the PA EU site are way more thorough (feedback options, duty cycles, IP ratings), and that usually reflects real build quality — metal gears, stronger motors, better sealing vs the generic stuff that often dies fast. Shipping to Europe was straightforward, prices in € helped avoid nasty customs surprises, and their support answered questions quickly. Overall feels like **better hardware**, not just a fancy website.

Agreed. Detailed specs usually signal real engineering, not marketing. Better feedback, duty cycles, and sealing matter long term. EU pricing and fast support make it feel like serious hardware.
