Malegra FXT can cause side effects, because it combines two active medicines: Sildenafil and Fluoxetine. Each of these works differently, so side effects may come from either one or their interaction. Common side effects include headache, flushing, dizziness, nasal congestion, indigestion, and nausea. Some men may also experience dry mouth, fatigue, or mild sleep disturbances due to fluoxetine. Sexual side effects can also occur. While sildenafil helps with erections, fluoxetine may reduce libido, delay ejaculation excessively, or in some cases make it harder to achieve orgasm. This balance is why the combination is used for both erectile dysfunction and Malegra FXT premature ejaculation, but responses vary from person to person. Less common but more serious side effects include low blood pressure, fast or irregular heartbeat, chest pain, severe dizziness, or fainting. Rarely, people may experience vision or hearing changes, or a prolonged and painful erection (priapism), which needs urgent medical attention. Fluoxetine may also increase the risk of mood changes, anxiety, or restlessness in some individuals, especially when starting treatment. Because Malegra FXT affects both the cardiovascular system and brain chemicals, it should only be used under medical supervision. It is especially important to avoid alcohol and other interacting medicines unless approved by a doctor.
