Fildena is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) by improving blood flow to the penis through PDE5 inhibition. “Tolerance” in this context means the medication feels less effective over time, even at the same dose. True pharmacological tolerance to sildenafil is uncommon, but some people may experience a reduced response due to other factors.

Men who may appear to develop reduced effectiveness include those with progressive medical conditions such as Diabetes Mellitus, cardiovascular disease, or high blood pressure. These conditions can worsen blood vessel damage and nerve function over time, making erections more difficult regardless of medication use.

People with uncontrolled lifestyle factors—such as smoking, heavy alcohol use, obesity, poor sleep, or high stress—may also notice decreasing effectiveness. In these cases, the issue is not true drug tolerance but worsening underlying erectile dysfunction.

Psychological factors such as performance anxiety, depression, or relationship stress can also reduce perceived effectiveness of FILDENA, even if the medication is working physiologically.

Incorrect use can also be mistaken for tolerance. Taking it after heavy meals, with alcohol, or without adequate sexual stimulation can reduce response. Additionally, drug interactions with nitrates or certain blood pressure medications may interfere with its effect.

Like other sildenafil-based medicines such as Sildenafil, Fildena should be used only under medical supervision. If effectiveness decreases, a healthcare provider can evaluate whether dose adjustment, lifestyle changes, or alternative therapies are needed rather than assuming true tolerance.
