Ongoing tensions in the Middle East affected the movement of naphtha and petrochemical feedstocks through important shipping routes such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Suez Canal. Delays in cargo movement and rising transportation costs made it more difficult for producers to secure raw materials on time.
