Hi everyone,
my family is considering making the jump from a standard suburban subdivision to a larger lot with equestrian privileges in the East Valley.
We have been actively browsing listings on http://homesforsalequeencreek.com to find a place with at least an acre of land so my daughter can finally keep her horse at home instead of paying monthly boarding fees.
However, I’m getting conflicted advice from coworkers about the actual reality of managing manure, flies, and dust in the summer heat.
Is having a backyard horse property a dream come true, or am I vastly underestimating the daily chore load?
Thanks in advance.

Moving your horse to your own property is incredibly rewarding, but it is definitely a lifestyle change that requires daily dedication! The absolute biggest hurdle in our local climate is vector control; if you don't stay on top of a strict daily manure management routine and install a reliable automated misting system for fly control, the pests can get overwhelming very quickly. On the flip side, saving money on boarding fees and getting to see your horse right outside your kitchen window every morning is an unmatched feeling. While looking over properties on http://homesforsalequeencreek.com, prioritize lots that already feature established shade structures, proper arena drainage, and secure perimeter fencing to save yourself a massive upfront setup expense!
