I'm considering a Discounted mortgage and would love to hear from people who have experience with this type of home loan. From what I understand, a Discounted mortgage offers a reduced interest rate for a set period by applying a discount to the lender's standard variable rate. It sounds like it could help lower monthly repayments at the beginning of the mortgage, but I'm also aware that payments can change if the lender's variable rate changes.
Has anyone recently chosen a discounted mortgage in the UK? Was it a better option than a fixed-rate or tracker mortgage? I'd appreciate any advice on the advantages, disadvantages, hidden fees, or things to watch out for before applying. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!
