If you’re flying through Orlando, it helps to know a little about the terminal layout before you arrive. The airport can feel busy, especially during weekends and holiday periods, but getting around becomes much easier once you understand how the different areas connect.
The main Orlando International Airport Terminal is divided into several airside areas, commonly known as Airside 1, Airside 2, Airside 3, and Airside 4. After checking in and going through security, passengers take an automated people mover to the appropriate airside. Your boarding pass and flight information will tell you which direction to take.
One thing I like about MCO is that there are plenty of places to grab food, coffee, or a quick snack while waiting for a flight. There are also shops and comfortable seating areas, so arriving a little early does not necessarily mean sitting around with nothing to do.
If you are meeting someone, picking up a rental car, or connecting to another flight, give yourself some extra time. The airport can take longer to navigate than expected when crowds are heavy.
