I’m curious how much marketing really matters for local service businesses such as carpet and tile cleaning. A company can provide good service and have satisfied customers, but reaching new customers seems like a completely different challenge.
For people who have worked with or managed service businesses, what marketing methods have actually brought in consistent customers? I’m also interested in how marketing experience translates into career opportunities, especially for people looking at Marketing Jobs in Europe and trying to build practical experience with small businesses.
Do local businesses usually handle marketing themselves, or is it more common to hire someone specifically for it? I’d be interested to hear what has worked for others.
