The way that commerce is conducted is also expected to change in the future digital economy. AI-driven systems will handle procurement in this new paradigm, finding the best products at the lowest prices while taking sustainability, delivery times, and supplier reliability into account. Conversely, intelligent sellers will employ AI to forecast demand, analyze market trends, and make real-time adjustments to pricing and inventory.
These intelligent buyers and sellers will be able to interact independently thanks to machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity, which will streamline supply chains and decrease human involvement. This degree of automation with tools like RMM and PSA software raises concerns about job losses in supply chain management, procurement, and sales, but it may also result in a highly efficient market. If displaced workers are not retrained for new roles, these changes could worsen economic inequality even while they could reduce costs and increase market efficiency.
