Malegra 100 mg contains sildenafil, a medicine commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It generally starts working within 30 to 60 minutes after taking a dose, although the exact timing can vary from person to person. Sexual stimulation is still required for sildenafil to help produce an erection; it does not automatically cause an erection.
Taking Malegra 100 mg after a heavy or high-fat meal may delay how quickly it begins to work. Alcohol may also make it harder to achieve or maintain an erection and can increase dizziness or other side effects. The effects of sildenafil commonly last for around 4 hours, though this does not mean you will have an erection for that entire period.
Because 100 mg is the maximum usual single dose of sildenafil for ED, it should be taken only as directed by a healthcare professional. It should not be taken more than once in 24 hours or combined with other ED medicines. Sildenafil must also not be used with nitrate medicines, such as nitroglycerin, because the combination can cause a potentially dangerous drop in blood pressure.
