Fildena contains sildenafil, a medicine used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Current evidence does not indicate that sildenafil directly reduces male fertility or permanently damages sperm production when used as prescribed. Its primary effect is on blood flow to the penis, helping men achieve an erection in response to sexual stimulation.

For men trying to conceive, sildenafil may sometimes indirectly support sexual activity by making erections easier to achieve and maintain. However, erectile dysfunction can have underlying causes—such as diabetes, hormonal problems, cardiovascular disease, or certain medications—that may also affect fertility.

Some laboratory and small human studies have investigated sildenafil's effects on sperm movement and other semen characteristics, but findings have not established that standard therapeutic use causes clinically significant infertility. Therefore, men should not assume that difficulty conceiving is caused by FILDENA without medical evaluation.

If you have been trying to conceive for 12 months without success (or six months when the female partner is 35 or older), consider discussing fertility evaluation with a healthcare professional. Testing may include a semen analysis and assessment of other reproductive factors.

Do not change your sildenafil dose or stop prescribed treatment solely because you are concerned about fertility. If you notice reproductive problems after starting Fildena or take other medicines that could affect fertility, speak with a doctor or fertility specialist. They can review your medications, medical history, and reproductive goals and determine whether additional testing is appropriate.
