The Las Vegas Raiders drafted their upcoming franchise quarterback inside Fernando Mendoza with the 1st total number throughout the 2026 NFL draft. Mendoza, the 2025 Heisman, Nationwide Winner, Massive 10 Offensive ParticipantNewcomer of the Calendar year, and Consensus AllAmerican logged 41 passing touchdowns, 6 interceptions, a 72% completion price, and 3535 yards throughout 16 video games. The Raiders are not placing all of their eggs inside of the Mendoza basket toward start off the time, as they too signed veteran Kirk Cousins in direction of a 1 yr agreement and the impact is that Cousins will begin the period underneath middle for the , who turns 38 following thirty day period, invested the remaining 2 seasons with the Falcons inside a backup QB position, still in addition started off 24 game titles owing towards damage towards Michael Penix, and the commencing position Atlanta passed him. Cousins experienced a 65% completion price, 5229 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions throughout his season inside Atlanta still he too observed a very low selling price of turnover deserving performs than interceptions, signaling some interceptions could possibly not be his fault. Cousins should really start off for the Raiders, yet there's a very good shot that Mendoza will too look at a reasonable percentage of snaps this time as the Raiders novice within just his novice year.7 days 7 vs RamsIdeally I think about the Raiders will need in direction of consist of Mendoza's to start with get started occur at property, which a 7 days 7 slot would align with. The Rams are not an sought after staff in the direction of incorporate your very first start off from https://www.lasvegasraidersfansportapparel.com/collections/devyn-perkins-jersey, the protection rated ultimate 10 closing yr, and excess long term corridor of famer Myles Garrett, together with greatest defensive backs Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson. Chris Shula and Sean McVay incorporate manufactured positions of competitive, instantaneous paced, complicated defensive courses and Shula consists of experienced his variety vs younger quarterbacks as perfectly. 7 days 7 is probably a little bit early, and getting thrown into the fireplace towards the Rams is not an uncomplicated activity, nonetheless Las Vegas usually takes a street holiday vacation for 2 months as soon as the Rams and if they have to have an early glance at Mendoza, 7 days 7 traces up most straightforward.7 days 8 at JetsSimilar towards that of the Rams in just 7 days 7, if the Raiders require an early appearance at Mendoza a 7 days 8 matchup with the Jets indicators in direction of be a powerful season interval. As talked about previously mentioned, they may possibly require toward incorporate Mendoza's very first start out at house, and a highway family vacation out East towards Fresh York isn't the perfect circumstance. Aaron Glenn is made up of succeeded vs younger quarterbacks, nevertheless Aaron Glenn consists of much too observed his safety fight inside his shorter stint as a mind educate. That protection did transform over and insert standouts David Onyemata, David Bailey, Joseph Ossai and T'Vondre Sweat towards the defensive line with DeMario Davis at linebacker https://www.lasvegasraidersfansportapparel.com/collections/luke-masterson-jersey, and Dane Belton, Nahshon Wright, D'Angelo Ponds, and Minkah Fitzpatrick inside of the secondary. Starting off Mendoza out vs Clean York heading offers an much easier initially get started than the Rams, nevertheless it's even now a street holiday.7 days 10: vs SeattleFollowing 7 days 9 will come the NFL exchange deadline, and if the Raiders listen some chatter over in all probability taking price for Kirk Cousins, then he may perhaps be delivered out and Mendoza slots inside 7 days 10 vs Seattle. Within an preferred worldwide, I wear't consider everybody requires Mendoza's very first start off towards the reigning tremendous bowl champions, who did get rid of a few starters nonetheless however keep loads of other standouts, and defensive mastermind Mike MacDonald. MacDonald overcome up upon younger quarterbacks remaining calendar year, and the Seattle course of action is exceptionally difficult, functional, and matchup based mostly. Furthermore, MacDonald too consists of a distinct relationship in direction of Raiders thoughts train Klint Kubiak, and he'll recognize how in direction of assault the Raiders offensive process and Mendoza. This in all probability simply just arrives inside a unusual shot the place Cousins is moved, yet I question this is the 1st start out for him.7 days 12: at ClevelandThis could possibly be the to start with begin for Mendoza, and I feel inside of the Raiders best earth this is his to start with shot. A vacation throughout the region in direction of Cleveland is not sought after, and actively playing inside Cleveland in the course of late November might create for a great deal of difficult disorders. That mentioned, Mendoza did engage in at Indiana and excelled in just some chilly temperature game titles, like a 383 gain vs Alabama inside of the playoffs. The Browns moved Myles Garrett, nonetheless did incorporate Jared Verse whilst the protection stays alternatively the identical and in all probability a heart of the street protection. The Raiders bye 7 days will come within 7 days 13, and Mendoza would incorporate the prospect in the direction of transfer into Cleveland, perform, and then master in excess of the bye 7 days ahead of completing out the year in opposition to excellent competition.7 days 14: vs ChargersSimilar towards 7 days 12 vs the Browns, this begin arrives when the bye 7 days for the Raiders and would enable the great of both of those worlds for Las Vegas. In the direction of get started Matt Gay Jersey, Mendoza results in being the probability towards enjoy at dwelling for his to start with at any time start out, and just after that it's coming off the bye 7 days furnishing him sufficient year towards approach for the Chargers safety that really should result in some troubles. Just after 7 days 14, the Raiders transform in excess of toward the Broncos, Titans, Cardinals, and Chiefs. I'd visualize Las Vegas demands toward look at Mendoza past than afterwards towards realize what desires toward be constructed for 2026, nonetheless no matter a 59 video game pattern dimension need to be adequate and later on from the conclusion of the period, Las Vegas can watch 5 game titles vs 5 substitute degrees of rivals.
